Marian Rowe, 86, of Sheridan, Missouri passed away May 7, 2019 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born in Nodaway County, Missouri on April 12, 1933 to Floyd and Letha (Pierson) Foster. Marian was united in marriage to Roy Lee Rowe on March 19, 1949. Together they raised 5 children: Michael (Patty) Rowe, Sherry (David) Evans and Kathy Ruiz, all of Sheridan, David Rowe, St. Joseph, MO; and Randy Rowe, deceased. Marian was an amazing lady who will be missed dearly. She farmed all of her life; milking cows, taking care of bottle calves and raising chickens. She always had a huge garden that fed her family throughout the year.
She was a busy lady, who wasn’t afraid of hard work. When she wasn’t busy with farm work, she was off selling jewelry at jewelry parties, picking up walnuts that she would pick out during the winter months, or making a new craft item. She would spend her weekends at various craft shows throughout the area, selling her walnuts meats, jewelry and various craft items that she had made.
Marian served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 515 and was very active in all of their activities throughout the years. Her biggest joys in life were her 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She played a part in raising most of them and always had an opinion on how it should be done. You never had to guess where you stood with Marian, she would definitely let you know!
Later in life Marian became a member of the Sheridan Christian Church. She enjoyed her Sundays there and helping with various activities with the ladies of the church. In her final days, she often said she was ready for the Good Lord to come and take her home. So rest easy Grandma and be at peace, you are now “home”.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy; son, Randy; brother, Donald Foster; sisters: Dorothy Nelson, Maxine Surplus, Luella Norman and ½ sisters Eleanor and Opal.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Pastor Jeff Blaine will officiate. Interment will be in Luteston Cemetery, Sheridan, Missouri. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
