Tornado Spotter Training

The Allendale Community Betterment Club & the Worth County Emergency Management Agency are sponsoring a Tornado Weather Spotter class on Monday evening, March 31rst, at 6:00 p.m. at the Allendale Community Building. The National Weather Service is conducting this meeting for the general public and spotters in Worth County & surrounding counties. Already this year (2008), 35 tornadoes have caused damage in the State of Missouri. In 2006, 102 Tornadoes caused 13 deaths and 273 injuries in our state. Your best defense against a tornado is to be knowledgeable , have a designated shelter family and/or business plan, being constantly aware of the weather conditions and have a Weather Radio available at all times. The National Weather Service always has a new program & updated information on tornadoes & it is best to attend every year.
