Junior High Girls Run Away With Albany Meet; Tiger Boys Edged Out

Worth County’s junior high girls ran away with a tougher field at Albany, while the boys were edged out by Trenton Thursday.

The girls had 135.5 points. Stanberry had 78, South Harrison 76, Albany 72, Trenton 61, Platte Valley 46, St. Gregory’s 27, OSHS 25, Braymer 15.5, Pattonsburg 12, Winston 10, North Harrison 8, Gilman City 6, Maysville 6, East Harrison 4, Mercer 2, and Union Star 1.

Brooklyn Smith was second in the 100 with a time of 13.89. She got a personal best and won the 200 with a time of 29.16. Kaydence Downing was third in the 400 with a personal best time of 1:11.88. Karleigh Guinn tied for seventh with a personal best time of 1:16.30. Hadley Rush was fourth in the 800 with a time of 3:02.11. Kinley Fletchall was sixth with a time of 3:04.11. Kaeslyn Briner got a personal best in the 1600 with a time of 7:04.37. Renae Gladstone was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.58. Jolee Hauber was fifth with a time of 19.79.

The 4x100 team of Kaydence Downing, Renae Gladstone, Kinley Fletchall, and Hadley Rush was third with a time of 57.03. The 4x200 team of Kaydence Downing, Brecklyn Rush, Renae Gladstone, and Brooklyn Smith won by over four seconds with a time of 2:00.47.

Jane Hawk won the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 9.54 meters. Catelynn Moyer was eighth with a throw of 8.19 meters. The Tigers were 1-2 in the Discus. Jane Hawk won the Discus with a personal best throw of 24.37 meters. Gabbey Maudlin was second with a throw of 22.99 meters.

Kinley Fletchall was second in the High Jump with a height of 1.35 meters. The Tigers were 1-2 in the Pole Vault with Renae Gladstone winning with a height of 1.98 meters. Hadley Rush was second with a height of 1.83. Brooklyn Smith won the Long Jump with a personal best leap of 4.64 meters. Kaydence Downing got a personal best with a jump of 3.61. Hadley Rush edged out Jenna Pappert in the Triple Jump with a jump of 8.92. Kylie Combs was eighth with a personal best jump of 7.99 meters.

For the boys, Trenton had 111.5. Worth County had 96, Maysville 69, Platte Valley 57, Albany 44, Stanberry 40.5, Tri-County 35, North Harrison 30.5, South Harrison 28, St. Gregory’s 20, Winston 18, Mercer 11.5, Braymer 9, OSHS 9, and Union Star 6.

The Tigers were 1-2 in the 100. Cole Hardy won with a time of 12.23. Hudson Cameron was second with a time of 12.60. Cole Hardy won the 200 with a time of 25.76. Luca Sagel got a personal best with a time of 36.16. Cole Hardy was second in the 400 with a personal best time of 59.30. David Wideman got a personal best with a time of 1:08.04. Max Hiatt won the 100 Hurdles with a personal best time of 17.41.

The 4x100 team of Max Hiatt, Jarrett Gilland, Silas Brown, and Hudson Cameron won with a time of 51.44. The 4x200 team of Max Hiatt, Jarrett Gilland, Jace Mullock, and Hudson Cameron won with a time of 1:51.50.

Weston Hill was fourth in the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 9.31. Jakob Herbert got a personal best throw of 8.62. Jakob Herbert got a personal best in the Discus with a throw of 23.71 meters. Hardie Paxson got a personal best with a throw of 16.77.

Jarrett Gilland was tied for fifth in the High Jump with a personal best height of 1.45 meters. Jarrett Gilland was tied for second in the Pole Vault with a height of 2.44 meters, a personal best. Max Hiatt also set a personal best in the Pole Vault with a fourth place height of 2.44 meters. Silas Brown was seventh in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.36 meters. Silas Brown was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 10.74 meters. Jace Mullock got a personal best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 8.65 meters.
