Varsity Tiger Teams Sweep GRC West Track Meet, Kara Staton Wins Shot Put

Worth County’s teams swept the GRC West track meet Tuesday, April 30th, with the boys winning their fourth meet and the girls winning their first. 

For the girls, Worth County had 120, St. Joseph Christian 111, Princeton 85, Pattonsburg 65, Albany 65, King City 57, Stanberry 44, North Andrew 6, and North Harrison 3.

For the boys, Worth County had 136, Stanberry 129, Princeton 91, Albany 81, North Harrison 39, North Andrew 34, St. Joseph Christian 29, King City 21, and Pattonsburg 4.

For the girls, Emma Spencer was second in the 100 with a time of 14.23 and Brooklyn Richardson was third with a time of 14.42.  Spencer won the 200 with a personal best time of 27.34. Kristen Tracy was second in the 800 with a time of 3:03.75. Becca Smith was fourth in the 1600 with a time of 9:37.55. Riley Ridge was sixth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.79. Kristen Tracy was third in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 57.61. 

The 4x200 team of Eva Engel, Addison Gray, Rayleigh Smith, and Emma Spencer got a personal best by several seconds and was second with a time of 1:54.52. The 4x400 team of Autumn Cousatte, Eva Engel, Addison Gray, and Keira Hardy was third with a time of 5:49.17. The 4x800 was third with a time of 14:35.96.

Riley Ridge matched a personal best in the High Jump with a height of 1.60 meters, winning the event. Brooklyn Richardson was third with a height of 1.35 meters. 

Eva Engel won the Pole Vault with a new conference record of 3.35 meters. Becca Smith was fourth with a personal best of 1.85.

Katelyn Fletchall got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.09 meters, breaking the 4 meter barrier. Fletchall was sixth in the Triple Jump with a season best 8.82 meters.

Kara Staton won the Shot Put handily with a throw of 9.70 meters. She was second in the Discus with a throw of 29.32. Autumn Cousatte got a personal best in the Discus with a throw of 21.34 meters. Cousatte was second in the Javelin with a throw of 29.73 meters.

For the boys, Tyler New was third in the 200 with a time of 25.57. He was second in the 400 with a time of 55.16. 

Lucas Frisch won the 110 Hurdles handily with a time of 17.29, over 1.5 seconds better than his nearest rival. Brayden Combs was fourth with a time of 19.58. Frisch won the 300 Hurdles by an even bigger margin, winning it by over 4 seconds with a time of 43.73. Brayden Combs was fourth with a time of 50.99.

The 4x100 team of Andrew Griffin, Landon Moser, Brayden Murphy, and Bo Collins was third with a time of 49.11. One of the highlights was the 4x200, which knocked over four seconds off their time. The team of Tyler New, Landon Moser, Bo Collins, and Lucas Frisch won with a time of 1:37.07. The 4x400 team of Lucas Frisch, Brayden Combs, Andrew Griffin, and Caleb New was third with a time of 4:07.75. The 4x800 team of Caleb New, Wyatt Hill, Brayden Murphy, and Cole Ruby was second with a time of 11:29.80.

Andrew Griffin was second in the High Jump with a personal best time of 1.85. Brayden Combs got a personal best in the Pole Vault with a second place height of 3.20 meters. Wyatt Hill was fifth with a height of 2.75 meters.

It took him all year to do it, but Landon Moser finally broke his personal marks of a year ago in the jumping events. Moser won the Long Jump with a jump of 5.91 meters. He was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 12.24 meters. 

Bo Collins won the Shot Put with a throw of 11.84 meters. He was third in the Discus with a throw of 33.97. Tyler New won the Javelin with a throw of 43.73 meters.

North Harrison

For the girls, Erica Gerken was fifth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.53. Kira Robertson got a season best in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.05 meters. Jaxcynn Hansel was sixth in the Discus with a throw of 22.11 meters. 

For the boys, Lane Graham was sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.94 seconds. In the 200, Lane Graham was fourth with a time of 26.14. Kolton Graham got a personal best with a time of 27.13. Landon Johnson got a personal best in the 400 with a time of 1:03.04. Landon Johnson was sixth in the 800 with a time of 3:01.58. Lucian Sweeney got a personal best with a time of 3:08.39. 

Tate Richardson was fourth in the 1600 with a time of 6:04.91. He was also fourth in the 3200 with a time of 14:15.39. 

Kolton Graham matched a personal best in the High Jump with a height of 1.60 meters.

Wyatt Maize won the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.07 meters, a personal best. Lane Graham tried his hand at it and was fourth with a jump of 10.97. 

Dillon Hartschen was sixth in the Discus with a throw of 28.07 meters. Kolton Graham was fifth in the Javelin with a personal best throw of 33.84 meters.
