Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for October 11th, 2023

On October 3rd, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office conducted a manhunt seeking Ely Will (30). He was wanted for multiple warrants throughout the State of Iowa for Theft and Probation Violations. He was subsequently apprehended by the Creston Police Department.

On October 3rd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against James Gabbert (47) of Maryville alleging Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On October 4th, many cell phones went off at around 1:20 pm. It was a test of the national emergency alert system that is conducted every three years. 

On October 4th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against John Parker (41) of Blythedale alleging No Seat Belt and Drug Trafficking. Bond was set at $250,000, cash only.

On October 4th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Jagger Moad (21) of Albany alleging two counts Driving While Revoked (2nd & 3rd Offense). 

On October 4th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Terry Parkhurst (43) of Bethany alleging Sexual Misconduct and Resisting Arrest. Bond was set at $100,000, cash only.

On October 5th, the Page County Sheriff’s Department arrested Joshua Green of Bedford on a Nodaway County Warrant (Probation Violation) and a Taylor County Warrant (Sex Offender Violation).

On October 5th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Sheila Cracraft (64) of Blythedale alleging Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony). Bond was set at $150,000, cash only.

On October 5th, Scott Hobbs (61) of Bethany was arrested in Harrison County on a Bandara County (TX) Warrant alleging Continuous Violence Against a Family. Bond was denied.

On September 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Sabina Rother (64) of Maitland alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On October 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Merrick Becker (19) of Maryville alleging Leaving the Scene.

On October 6th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Xavier Mendez Delgado (26) of Kansas City Kansas in Harrison County on charges of No Valid License, No Plates, and a Pike County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Speeding). 

On October 6th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Matthew Melchor (40) of Overland Park (KS) alleging DWI (20.9% Blood Alcohol Content) and Careless & Imprudent Driving. 

On October 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Gunner Lawrence (18) of Rosendale in Nodaway County on charges of DWI and Failure to Stop. 

On October 9th, at the Maryville City Council Meeting, Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong and Maryville Director of Public Safety Ron Christian presented Live Saving Awards to deputies Austin Hann and Josh McMillen for their actions on August 31st at Mozingo Lake in saving the life of someone who was drowning.

On October 10th, Christian Long (22) of Pearland (TX) was ordered extradited from Nodaway County to Greene County (IA) to face two charges of Theft and one count of Burglary.

On October 10th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2014 Chevy Impala driven by Avery Emery (22) of Maryville was southbound on Route H two miles north of Sheridan when she failed to negotiate a curve, went off the west side of the roadway, struck a hay bale, and came to rust on its front bumper. Emery received moderate injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Maryville.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
