Josh Warner Breaks 150 Foot Barrier in Discus

Josh Warner broke his school record and personal best in the Discus by half an inch at Worth County Tuesday, throwing for 149'10 1/2". Subsequently, he broke the 150 foot barrier in Albany Saturday, throwing for 154 feet and another first place finish.

At their home meet Tuesday, the girls were 4th with a team score of 44 points. Gallatin ran away with the meet with 82 points, followed by North Andrew with 49 and Rock Port with 46. On the boys side, Maysville won with 82 1/2 points, followed by South Harrison with 76. Rock Port had 62, Stanberry had 56, Gallatin 54, North Andrew 49, and Worth County 34 for a 7th place finish.

In Albany, the girls were 2nd with 87 points, behind Braymer with 91. The boys were 3rd; Hardin Central and South Harrison tied for first with 121. Worth County followed with 68.

At Worth County, Josh Warner was 3rd in the Shot Put with a throw of 44'4". On the girls side, Kaitlyn Davidson was 3rd with a throw of 36'9"; Taylor Causey was 6th with a throw of 31'8". Kaitlyn was also 5th in the Discus with a throw of 93'9".

Kenna LaFollette was 6th in the Long Jump with a leap of 14 feet.

Claire Andrews set a personal best in the Pole Vault with a vault of 10'6", barely clearing the bar. For the boys, Jared Simmons was 6th with a vault of 9'6".

Brevyn Ross was 3rd in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.95. For the girls, Sydney Thummel was 3rd in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 17.55. 

The girls 4x200 team of Ally Buffington, Payton Adwell, Claire Andrews, and Sydney Thummel was 2nd with a time of 1:56.36. The  4x100 team of Kenna LaFollette, Ally Buffington, Sydney Thummel, and Katie Mullock was also second; they finished with a time of 55.10, just .21 of a second behind Albany.

Brevyn Ross picked up the boys second win of the afternoon at Worth County, winning the 300 Hurdles with a time of 42.52.

The girls relay teams picked up their third medal of the afternoon as the 4x400 team of Sydney Thummel, Claire Andrews, Malorie Moellenberndt, and Payton Adwell was 5th with a time of 4:39. For the boys, the team of Brevyn Ross, Ben Badell, Chris Alarcon, and Lucas Caddenhead was 6th with a time of 3:51.

At Albany, the girls placed two in the 100. Sydney Thummel was 3rd with a time of 13.96. Kenna LaFollette placed for the first time of the year with a time of 15.06, good enough for 8th.

Payton Adwell was 6th in the 400 with a time of 1:11.84.

The girls placed two in the 1600. Victoria Moore was 6th with a time of 7:28.14 while Tess Andrews was right behind with a time of 7:37.81. Both of them placed in the 1600 for the first time this year.

Sydney Thummel won the 100 Hurdles with a time of 17.65. It was a close three-way race as she beat out Becky Gann (Mid-Buchanan) with a time of 17.73 and Mallory Hughson (Braymer), who clocked in at 17.83.

Kristen Ross was 7th in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 57.44.

The 4x100 team of Sydney Thummel, Katie Mullock, Kenna LaFollette, and Ally Buffington shaved some time off and finished second with a time of 54.98.

The 4x200 team of Sydney Thummel, Payton Adwell, Kenna LaFollette, and Katie Mullock won, beating out Albany with a time of 1:56.68.

The 4x400 team of Tess Andrews, Ally Buffington, Victoria Moore and Kristen Ross picked up Worth County's third medal of the day in relays by placing 5th with a time of 5:10.09.

Rachael Gardner was 7th in the High Jump with a height of 4 feet.

Kenna LaFollette continued to improve her time in the Long Jump with a 3rd place finish, getting 14'1". Kristen Ross also placed, getting 6th with a jump of 13'1".

Dylanie Abplanalp was 8th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 23'2 1/4".

The girls placed two in the Shot Put. Kaitlyn Davidson was 2nd with a throw of 34'9 1'2". Taylor Causey was 3rd with a throw of 30'1 1/2". Kaitlyn was also second in the Discus with a throw of 98'6". Aubrey Staton was 5th with a throw of 71'11".

For the boys, Brevyn Ross tried his hand in the 400 and was 3rd with a time of 53.63.

Brevyn had a close race in the 110 Hurdles, but won with a time of 17.44, beating out Tyler Preston (South Harrison) by .12 of a second.

The boys placed two in the 300 Hurdles. Brevyn Ross was 2nd with a time of 46.56; Ben Badell was 7th with a time of 48.68.

The 4x100 team of Chris Alarcon, Colton Straight, Lucas Caddenhead, and Ben Badell was 4th with a time of 50.07. The 4x400 team of Brevyn Ross, Ben Badell, Chris Alarcon, and Lucas Caddenhead was 4th with a time of 4:05.50. The boys picked up their third relay medals in the 4x800 as Jared Simmons, Dallas Monticue, Montana Lykins, and Harley Charles was 6th with a time of 10:22.30.

The boys placed two in the Pole Vault. Jared Simmons was 3rd with a height of 9'6", while Ben Badell was right behind him at 4th with a height of 9 feet.

In addition to winning the Discus, Josh Warner was 2nd in the Shot Put with a throw of 44'3".
