One Injured in Three Car Accident on 148

A Hopkins woman was injured in a three car accident north of Maryville last Wednesday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2012 Nissan Murano driven by Donna Nelson (67) of Ravenwood was westbound on County Road 220, a 2008 Chevy Pickup driven by Lola Steeve (79) of Hopkins was northbound on 148, and a 2006 FRHT driven by Michael Parkhurst (52) of Eagleville was southbound on 148. The Patrol says Nelson was driving too fast for conditions and attempted to turn south onto Highway 148 and struck Parkhurst in the driver's side. Steeve attempted to avoid the other two vehicles and struck the passenger side of Nelson's vehicle. The Nissan came to rest on the west side of 148. The pickup came to rest on the east side of 148. The FRHT came to a controlled stop on 148. Steeve received moderate injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital by Ambulance. The Nissan and the pickup were totaled and towed from the scene. The FRHT received minor damage and was driven from the scene. All three people were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
