Police, Firefighters Turning on Governor Scott Walker
The Firefighters and Police unions endorsed Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin. To show how badly Walker handled the fight with the teachers' unions, they are now turning on him and are rescinding their endorsements. The moral of the story is that it's very easy to run for office and take pot shots at how badly the government is being run. But it's a lot different to actually govern. Governing involves taking into account everybody's interests to solve problems.

The Wisconsin Mess
Two problems with the way WI Governor Scott Walker is handling the whole mess in Wisconsin. The first is that he and the Senate Republicans arbitrarily imposed a solution without consulting the parties involved -- if spouses were to do that, then the divorce rate would be nearly 100%. The other is that he is asking political opponents like the teachers' unions to make sacrifices, but he is not asking political allies such as the business community to make similar sacrifices such as higher taxes.
