On June 2nd, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a law increasing the speed limit in Iowa to 60 on most two-lane highways and rural roads.
On June 2nd, Curtis Harness (44) of Minneapolis (MN) pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, No Valid License, No Insurance, No Seat Belt, and Failure to Secure Child in Seat Belt. He was sentenced to 12 days in jail and fined $520 plus costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.
On June 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 70 year old Clarinda woman was injured when the vehicle she was in was rear-ended by a Villisca woman while stopped at a construction stoplight on Route 71 two miles north of Maryville.
On June 2nd, Trevor Wolf (21) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. He was fined $375 plus costs by Judge Robert Rice.
On June 2nd, Joshua Ware (45) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Assault. He was sentenced to three days in jail by Judge Robert Rice.
On June 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 28 year old Albany woman was injured after she struck a deer on Route 136 just west of Bethany.
On June 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against Brett Kilton (31) of Ridgeway alleging Domestic Assault (Felony), and two counts of Rape (Felony). Bond was denied.
On June 3rd, Colt Gibson (43) of Leavenworth (KS) pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of Damage to Jail Property (Felony). He was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Daren Adkins, concurrent with a Platte County case and consecutive to other cases.
On June 3rd, Torres Jacobs (31) of St. Charles pleaded guilty in Daviess County to a charge of Damage to Jail Property (Felony). He was sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Daren Adkins. On June 4th, Torres Jacobs (31) of St. Charles pleaded guilty in DeKalb County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Assault. He was sentenced to one year in jail by Judge Drew Davis.
On June 3rd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Ronnie Dickerson (69) of Minneapolis (MN) alleging DWI (Felony). Bond was denied.
On June 3rd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Harold Burnett (71) of Chillicothe alleging two counts Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony). Bond was denied.
On June 4th, David Kay Cole (64) of Stanberry pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to a charge of Driving While Revoked. He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant must serve 30 days shock time with credit for time served and successfully undergo a mental health evaluation.
On June 4th, a Maryville woman posted on Facebook that she received a call from a US Bank number. They were advised people were trying to access their account and that someone had tried to withdraw $10,000 out of their account by walking into a US Bank branch and asked her if she had made a $500 Walmart purchase in Florida. They instructed her to walk into the local US Bank branch and they were going to stay on the line until she completed the instructions. She put them on speakerphone with the branch manager and they hung up.
On June 4th, Judge Corey Herron revoked the probation of Ryan Eckstein (41) of Maryville in Gentry County Circuit Court and sentenced him to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections to run concurrent with a Nodaway County case. The defendant had been on probation for Trafficking Drugs (Felony).
On June 4th, Tyler Guess (39) of King City failed to appear in Gentry County Circuit Court on a probation violation hearing. A warrant was issued and bond set at $1,500, cash only. The defendant had been on probation for No Valid License.
On June 4th, the Iowa State Auditor’s Office reported that book to bank reconciliations were not prepared during 2023 and 2024 for Madison County, meaning that the Auditor’s Office could only issue a qualified opinion on the financial statements as a whole. The State Auditor says there was a lack of segregation of duties, significant adjustments made to the financial statements, no monthly bank reconciliations, money not deposited in a timely manner, lack of property tax reconciliations, lack of reconciliations for the Public Health Department, lack of a petty cash policy, appropriations not approved by the Board of Supervisors, a deficit fund balance, and tax payments not being made in a timely manner. Many of the findings were repeated from the prior year. Copies have been filed with the Madison County Sheriff, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Madison County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office.
On June 4th, Nodaway County Associate Circuit Judge Robert Rice ordered the extradition of Jacob Rushly (27) of Freeman (MO) to Osage County (KS) to face charges of Criminal Possession of Weapon by Felon (Felony), Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On June 5th, Harrison County Associate Circuit Judge Jay Hemenway revoked the bond of Trayton Mitchell (19) of Bethany following receipt of a bond violation report. A warrant was issued and bond set at $1,200, cash only. The defendant had been out on bond on charges of No Valid License, Careless & Imprudent Driving, and Peace Disturbance. The defendant picked up a new charge of No Valid License that day. Bond in that case was set at $250, cash only.
On June 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Anna Barlow (46) of Clarinda alleging Forgery (Felony) and Stealing. Bond was set at $361.50, cash only. Defendant may have no contact with Wal-Mart or enter any of its stores. Defendant may not enter any retail merchant in Nodaway County until further order of the court.
On June 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Johnathan Owens (35) of Maryville alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender. Bond was set at $5,000 signature bond.

On June 5th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Blake Crawford (32) of Des Moines alleging Possession of Prohibited Item at Jail (Felony).
On June 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Justin Wink (45) of Martinsville alleging DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.
On June 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Kevin Ridnour (36) of Clarinda alleging Stealing.
On June 7th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Raylene Colvin (50) of Bethany alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was set at $20,000, cash only, later reduced to 10% cash. The defendant had a warrant out for their arrest from Ray County on a charge of Stealing Controlled Substance (Felony).
On June 7th, a Sheridan woman posted on Facebook that someone’s dog came into her yard and killed some of her chickens.
On June 8th, Dawn Muncy (49) of Quitman pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to a charge of Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony). She was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant must enter and successfully complete the Fourth Circuit Alternative Court Program.
On June 8th, Daviess County Circuit Judge Daren Adkins recalled Sagan Gonzalez (38) of Hamilton and placed him on five years probation following a 120-day treatment program. Defendant must attend three AA or NA groups per week and obtain a sponsor, get involved with activities and practice something positive he has learned in treatment, submit to enhanced alcohol monitoring, and obtain full-time employment. The defendant had been convicted of DWI (Felony).
On June 8th, Harrison County Associate Circuit Judge Jay Hemenway ordered the extradition of Landris West (42) of Humble (TX) to Michigan to face a charge of Non-Support (Felony).
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
