Patricia "Pat" Helzer 1935-2026

Patricia Sue “Pat” Helzer, 90, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Oak Pointe of Maryville. 

Pat was born on December 26, 1935, in Maryville, Missouri to Harold and Lula (Dowden) Hilton. She was a 1953 graduate of Hopkins High School. She was a 4-H Leader, member of the First United Methodist Church of Maryville where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Family Guidance Center and later Ackman Inc. She also helped with the livestock operation on the farm. Pat was an Avon Lady for over thirty years and made many lifelong friends. She loved her family, flowers, birds, dogs, cats and being outdoors.

She married Byron Helzer on June 27, 1954 in Hopkins at the Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1993. She was also preceded by her parents and two brothers, Forrest Hilton and Francis Hilton, and her son-in-law, Mark Ball.

Survivors include her daughters, Cindy, (Dick) Baldwin, Julie (Bryan) Rosenburg, and Lisa Ball; grandchildren, Jenna (Tommy) Lewis, Nathan Baldwin, Bret Baldwin (Tim Unruh) , Sharon (Glen) Grogan, Meg Rosenburg (Jon Wolfe), Amanda (Will) Anderson, and Charlotte Ball; great-grandchildren; Alex, Bryce, Aubrey and Brantley Lewis, Wesley, Margaret, and Claire Grogan, Ezra and Gavi Wolfe, and Juliet and Henry Anderson and a new great-granddaughter arriving in August; sister, Peggy (Larry) Lyons.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 28th at 3pm at the Hopkins Christian Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins, Missouri. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In memory of Pat, her family suggests memorials to the Hopkins Cemetery Association.
