Late Scoring Outburst Gives NEN Softball Walkoff Win

A late scoring outburst gave Northeast Nodaway's softball girls an 8-7 walkoff win over North Nodaway last Monday night in their final match before districts. They scored 3 in the sixth and 2 in the seventh to erase a 7-3 deficit and get the win. They used a 14-hit attack to get the victory.

Dallis Coffelt pitched for Northeast and got the victory. Talina Nelson and Bailey Judd each went 3 for 4 for the Bluejays in the winning effort. Jill Spire and Taylor Coffelt each went 2 for 4. Talina Nelson had 2 doubles for Northeast while Judd and Allie Runde had 1 each. Jill Spire and Bailey Judd had 2 RBI's each. Alicia Smith, Dallis Coffelt, and Talina Nelson had 1 each.

The win was Northeast's third of the year and made them 2-4 in the Platte Valley Conference. Their other conference win was a 10-4 victory against Stewartsville.
