Louis Eugene Pritchard, age 97, Grant City, Missouri died Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Worth County Convalescent Center in Grant City.
Louis was born in Elberta, Michigan. He was the son of the late Isaac and Myrtle (Noels) Pritchard.
As a young man Louis had worked as a wiper for the Ann Arbor Ferry Company in Ann Arbor.
Louis was married to Lois Harpson. They were later divorced.
On Veteran’s Day 2023, Louis was awarded an honorary high school diploma by Worth County R-III and Operation Recognition.
Louis was a World War II Navy veteran. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served on the USS Sculptor, responsible for delivering troops, goods and equipment to locations in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
Before retiring, Louis was in the construction trade and installed sheetrock.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and three sons.
His survivors include one son, Randy Pritchard, and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Mr. Pritchard’s body has been cremated under the care of the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home, Grant City. A memorial service with military rites will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., August 5, 2024, at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Chapel. Private inurnment will be held later in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Denver, Missouri.
