Obituary -- Austin Adams 1917-2014

Austin Wilson Adams, 96 died August 21, 2014. He was born October 28, l917 in Green Township, Worth County, Missouri.

Austin served in the United States Army during World War II as an airplane mechanic,
specializing in B24 bombers. He married Mary Alice Graham from Stanberry, Missouri on November 23, 1946. They were married for 66 years.

Austin served Worth County Missouri 34 years as an elected official serving in the capacity of County Clerk (1947-1950) and County Collector (1951-1981). He was also an active member in a variety of community organizations during his lifetime.

Austin was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents Edson and Daisee (Long) Adams, brothers Doyle, Blaine, Elbert and sisters Bernice (infant), and Bonnie Cassel.

He is survived by daughter Linda Drew of Bethany, Missouri; son Lynn Adams and daughter in law Judy Adams of Mesa, Arizona, four granddaughters, one grandson and ten great grandchildren. Sister in law Faye Adams and brother/sister in law Edward and Betty Pigg, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home in Grant City, preceded with a visitation at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Grant City, Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Grant City Baptist Church or the Harrison County Hospice.

Obituary -- Bill Moyer 1929-2014

William “Bill” Fredrick Moyer, age 85, formerly of Parnell, Missouri died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.

Bill was born August 18, 1929 in Maryville the son of the late Ralph E. and Mary M. (Stundon) Moyer.

Bill attended St. Patrick’s, Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University all of Maryville. He held a BS in both Agriculture and Education from Northwest.

Bill was a United States veteran having served his country as a Naval Aviator.

March 14, 1953, Bill was united in marriage to Esther B. Waske in Maryville. To this union six children were born; Steve, Peggy, Dave, Mick, Terry and Alan.

Bill was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Curry-Richardson-Sparks-Waldeier Post #528, both of Parnell.
Bill was an avid pilot following his 4 years in the Navy Air. He loved farming, especially cattle, but taught high school math and science for 16 years (1960 - 1976) in Albany, Missouri to help support his family. After retiring from teaching he began work as a rural mail carrier. Bill carried mail for Parnell from 1979 - 1993. He loved photography and computers. He wrote a daily blog and posted many pictures of his kids and grand kids there over the years. Bill loved the technology we have available today and wasn't afraid to tackle any new electronic device.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Ralph E. Jr., Don and Paul Moyer, an infant granddaughter and two great grandsons.

Services arrangements: Visitation 5-7 PM, Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home, Grant City, Missouri, where funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2014. Military burial services will be in the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Missouri by American Legion Post #528 of Parnell.
