Five Teens Injured Near Savannah

Five teens were injured in a one car accident near Savannah. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Chrysler Sebring driven by Kenneth Atkins, 16, of Rosendale was westbound on County Road 57 seven miles north of Savannah when it failed to make a turn, traveled off the west side of the roadway, and struck a tree. The Sebring came to rest on the west side of the roadway facing westbound. Atkins, the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries. Four passenger, Miles Aye, Hallie Dudley, Cody Edwards, and Shaina Pittman, all received moderate injuries. All were taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. The Sebring was totalled in the accident.
