County Gets $12,000 for Emergency Radio Equipment.

May 31st Minutes
Commissioner Ted Findley called the meeting to order at 9:05 am
1. Commissioner Dennis Gabbert motion to approve amended minutes. Clerk Roberta Owens changed the May 23rd minutes for the vote of the Sheriff car to Findley seconded the motion instead of Ruckman seconded. Clerk Owens also added CR 194 to the list of roads that Jim Fletchall needs to look at. Commissioner Dennis Gabbert seconded. Motion carried.
2. Commissioner Rob Ruckman made a motion to approve bills. Commissioner Dennis Gabbert seconded. Motion carried.
3. Commissioner Rob Ruckman reported gas prices from the MFA are $3.629 for gas, and $3.779 for diesel.
4. Treasurer Linda Brown presented the weekly balance sheet, bills, and payroll.
5. Pat Kobbe, EMD came to tell the commissioners that we didn’t get the Homeland Security Grant, but the county did receive $12,002 for radio equipment for the Incident Command Trailer. The County received $10,802.00 for equipment, and $1200.00 for installation. The list includes 3 mobile radios, 5 hand held radios, chargers for all radios, P25 compatible portable radio, and 4 flood lights. The Command Trailer is owned and maintained by the county, but will work as a coop between Gentry and Harrison county. The County will need to get a memorandum of understanding with the other two counties.
6. The Commissioners discussed putting some of the flood and ice disaster money in a CD. Commissioner Dennis Gabbert made a motion to put $123,000 in a CD at BTC bank for 6 months; they will also transfer $55,751.14 to the Road and Bridge fund. Ruckman seconded. Motion carried.
Commissioner Dennis Gabbert made a motion to go to adjourn for lunch at 11:55 am. Ruckman seconded. Motion carried.

Commissioner Ted Findley brought the afternoon session of the meeting to order at 1:30 pm.
7. Jim Fletchall, Road and Bridge Supervisor report:
· Discussed sloping of banks, seeds, mulch to finish CR 163. Fletchall reported that 2 tubes need replaced on that road also.
· The tube on CR 228, Don King’s road is washing out again. It also has some rust showing up already. The phone line is in the way so they can’t get the tube deep enough to stay. The commissioners agreed to have Fletchall order a headwall for the tube. Fletchall will check with Metal Culvert about the rust problem as the tube is only 2 years old.
· Jerry Cook reported lots of brush tangled around the bridge by his house.
· Bill Grabb complained that he didn’t get much gravel on CR 242. The problem is that there wasn’t enough base rock there.
· Fletchall asked for permission to check on motor prices for the rider lawnmower at the county barn. Permission Granted
· Fletchall asked about liability insurance for the county barn. Clerk Roberta Owens will check on this.
8. Commissioner Dennis Gabbert made a motion to give the Worth County Progress Organization $2500. to be used for Porta Potties, advertising, and rental of the speaker sound system for the Worth County Sesquicentennial Celebration. The money will be taken from the Local Use Fund. Ruckman seconded. Motion carried.
Commissioner Gabbert made a motion to adjourn at 4:20 pm.
